Program: Susquehanna University High School Wind Ensemble Institute: Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania
Description: Susquehanna University offers a unique summer performance experience for high school musicians. This week-long, residential program focuses on chamber music and symphonic wind ensemble performance. Students work with Director of Bands Eric L. Hinton, Ph.D., HonFBC, as well as other distinguished Susquehanna faculty members during chamber music rehearsals, private lessons, seminars and unforgettable performances. The university reviews auditionrecordings and invites 55 gifted woodwind, brass and percussion players entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2012. Selection is competitive and the final application deadline is May 2, 2012. Need-based and merit-based scholarships are available and cost includes tuition, room and boardApplication and recorded audition information can be found online.

Program: : Digital Journalism & Media Production at Villanova University
Description: The Digital Journalism & Media Production summer program is a creative behind-the-scenes experience for high school students. Learn from Villanova University faculty, guest speakers, news media professionals and site visits. Each student will write articles, report news and design and publish their own website and online portfolio. Students will also learn how to integrate photography, podcasts, and video into visual content. Our fast-paced course combines lectures, demonstrations and lots of hands-on practice. You’ll experiment with all the techniques of digital news production and have full access to Villanova’s Mac-based computer labs and TV studio and editing suites.

Program: Widener University Summer Business Program for High School Students: Chester, Pennsylvania
Description: Many high school students remain uncertain about what field of study they will pursue in college until last minute.  Especially, there is a general lack of knowledge about the career opportunities in business fields and what type of college education will prepare them for these opportunities. In order to help these students make better choices, the Widener University School of Business Administration is preparing four types of educational programs for high school students. Through these programs, we would like to introduce these students to the opportunities that lie ahead in the field of business while at the same time exposing them to some college learning experience.

Program: Emagination Computer Camps
Description: Technology PLUS Summer Camp FunEmagination blends the latest in technology with fun non-tech activities that create a well-rounded summer camp experience for kids & teens ages 8 -17. Description: The School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania invites highly motivated and talented high school students to apply to participate in our three-week Summer Academy in Applied Science and Technology (SAAST). Our five rigorous, intensive SAAST courses give high school students an advance look at the learning experience they can expect in college. Courses are available in: Biotechnology, Computer Graphics, Computer Programming, Nanotechnology, and Robotics. Combining sophisticated theory with hands-on work in our world-class laboratories and culminating in independent projects, SAAST challenges students to work harder, smarter, and more creatively than they ever have before.
