Art
Program:  Savannah College of Art and Design Summer Programs,  Atlanta Georgia
Description:  Savannah College of Art and Design has summer programs available in variety of art related fields.  Students can sign up for workshops in areas such as bring artwork to life: animation basics, drawing studio: still life, the painter's studio: acrylic media, and setting the scene: producing design basics.
Participants:  There are programs available for students who have completed their 9th, 10th, or 11th grade years of high school.

Program: RISD Pre-College Programs in the Arts:  Providence, Rhode Island
Description:  This program is designed to give students the opportunity to learn about art and design in a college setting.  Students gain in-depth experience in area of concentration (i.e. ceramics, drawing, computer animation, painting…).  Students receive instruction from faculty members and work on developing their portfolio.
Participants:  Students who have completed the 10th grade and are at least 16 years old.

Program: Carnegie Mellon Pre-College Program:  A Summer of Exploration:  Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Description:  This program provides students with the opportunity to explore and gain experience in an area of interest including: architecture, art, design, drama, or music.
Participants:  Students who have completed 10th, 11th, or 12th grade by the summer.

Program: Summer Architecture Education Programs:  Various universities
Description: The American Institute of Architecture provides a website with links to summer architecture programs for high school students.  Students can access descriptions of specific programs by following links on the American Institute of Architecture summer program website.

Program: Summer Studios at the University of Massachusetts:  Boston, Massachusetts
Description:  This is a pre-college summer program for students who are interested in the advanced study in the arts.  Students engage in an in-depth study in an area of art that is of interest to them.  Students learn from advanced instructors and work on developing a portfolio.
Participation:  Students entering grades 11 and 12.

Music
Program: Oberlin Summer Music Credo Program:  Oberlin, Ohio
Description:  The Credo Program is an intensive chamber music program for exceptional string students.  Students receive extensive daily coaching and mentoring from faculty members.  The Credo Program includes music study, service, and performance.
Participants:  Age 12 – High school students.

Program: Oberlin Summer Music Programs:  Oberlin, Ohio
Description:  The Oberlin Conservatory of Music offers a variety of music programs in the summer for students.

Program: Bowling Green Summer Music Institute:  Bowling Green, Ohio
 Description:  This is an intensive music program sponsored by the College of Musical Arts at Bowling Green State University.  Students have the opportunity to attend programs and gain experience in their area of interest (i.e. brass, vocal arts, string orchestra).
 Participants:  High school students.

Program: National High School Institute at Northwestern University:  Evanston, Illinois
Description:  This program features in-depth study with college faculty in one of the following divisions:  music, journalism, film-production, theatre-arts, debate, and forensics-individual (competitive speech).  There are also two adjunct divisions:  championship debate and junior statesmen.
Participants:  The age/grade requirement for participation varies depending on the program of interest.

Theatre
Program: Drama Workshop at Duke University:  Durham, North Carolina
Description:  This program provides students with the opportunity to learn about various aspects of theatre and drama and to gain hands-on experience in theatre performance.
Participation:  Students in grades 9-11.

Program: TheatreBridge Program at Brown University:  Providence, Rhode Island
Description:  This program provides young actors with the opportunity work  under the mentorship of established theatre professionals.  Acting, directing, and writing skills are areas of emphasis.  Students work to develop their own original performance pieces.

Writing
Program: Creative Writer's Workshop at Duke University:  Durham, North Carolina
Description:  This program is for advanced writers who are interested in refining their writing skills.  Students work with instructors and their peers to reach their self-defined goals for this workshop.  Students are also provided with individual consultation from instructors.
Participation:  Students in grades 10 and 11.

Program: Young Writer's Camp at Duke University:  Durham, North Carolina
Description:  This program gives students the opportunity to explore different genres of writing (i.e. short story, poetry, playwriting…).  Students receive instruction from professional writers and educators.   Students also have the opportunity to share their own writing.

Program Spectrum Program:  Case Western Reserve University
Description:  A three-week program (June 29-July 18) of advanced high school study for academically talented students held in partnership with Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development.  2008 Courses:  Algebra I/Algebra II / Geometry (self-paced), Creative Writing, Forensic Science, Persuasion and Debate:  Globalization, Robotics.
Participants:  Qualified students in grades 7-9
