Program: Project Hawai'i: Ultimate Teen Mentoring & Cultural Adventure Summer Camp, Hawaii
Description: Project Hawai'i offers a very unique once in a lifetime opportunity to make a difference. Not a typical teen tour, you will spend your summer working hands on mentoring homeless children on the islands of Hawai'i. Earning 200 community service hours in mentoring, leadership and life skills.
Our program is truly one of a kind allowing you to learn alongside the native Hawaiians who share their culture and traditions passed down through generations. Learning hula, making your own ti'leaf skirt and even wrapping laulau for our authentic lu'au presentation. Teens will know what it is to live aloha, from Hawaiians, not a tour company.
Teen Adventures are unsurpassed from the sky to the bottom of the ocean blue. Teens will hike the volcano, learn how to chart the stars, and snorkel with sea-life. Surfing the wave with pipeline champions or visiting sacred lands and waterfalls are all part of what makes Hawai'i very special.
Participants: Open to teens enrolled in high-school or graduating class of 2012. Min. 3.2 gpa, and other enrollment applies. Your tuition cost is also tax deductible and will provide your camp buddy with their cost of camp-life.
