Summer Programs:  Telluride Association Summer Programs for High School Students:  Various universities
Description: Six-week college-level seminars held at various universities provide students with in-depth summer study opportunities in a variety of subject areas and fields. This is a very competitive scholarship, but if accepted the programs are totally free.
Participants:  Students who have completed 10th and 11th grade by the summer

Program: Mentor Connection:  University of Connecticut:  Storrs, Connecticut
Description:  This program is designed to provide talented students with the opportunity to participate in creative projects and investigations while working with university mentors. Students engage in research projects in their area of interest with the guidance of professors in the field of study.
Participants:  Students who have completed 9th and 10th grade by the summer.

Program: Duke University Talent Identification Summer Studies Programs: Duke University
Description:  These programs provides students with the opportunity for in-depth learning in a variety of high interest subject areas and topics.
Participants:  Qualified students in grades 7-12.

ProgramSpectrum Program:  Case Western Reserve University
Description:  A three-week program (June 29-July 18) of advanced study for academically talented students held in partnership with Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development.  2008 Courses:  Algebra I/Algebra II / Geometry (self-paced), Creative Writing, Forensic Science, Persuasion and Debate:  Globalization, Robotics.
Participants:  Qualified students in grades 7-9

ProgramEquinox Program:  Case Western Reserve University
Description:  A three-week program (June 29-July 18) of advanced study for academically talented students held in partnership with Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development.  2008 Courses:  Algebra II / Precalculus (self-paced), Chemistry, Computer Game Design, Engineering, Genetics & Biotechnology, International Relations, Journalism, Philosophy, Sociology.

Program:  Ohio Summer Honors Institutes, various universities in Ohio
Description: 
Participating students are provided with the opportunities to explore exciting topics and career options as well as to interact with peers.  The Summer Honors Institutes are held at various universities around Ohio, where students can engage in the in-depth study of high interest topics such as veterinary medicine, sports medicine, the field of business, the field of medicine, the field of law, game programming and simulation, black and white photography, and creative writing. 
Participants
To attend an Ohio Summer Honors Institute, students are required to meet the following eligibility requirements:  reside in Ohio, be enrolled in the 9th or 10th grade during the 2006-2007 school year, and be identified as gifted in a recognized area (note:  some Institutes may have other specific qualifications).

Program: Martin Essex School: Columbus, Ohio
Description:  This is a week long school at the Ohio State University that offers a very high level instructional experience.  It is a very competitive program that provides excellent learning opportunities.
Participants:   Students apply as Juniors and school districts submit applicants to a committee who choose 70 students to participate in the program.
