Program:  University of Delaware Honors Program Summer College
Description: The University of Delaware Honors Program Summer College gives high school students an edge!  UD Honors Program Summer College is an exclusive opportunity for academically motivated high school sophomores and juniors to live and learn on one of the most beautiful college campuses on the East Coast.  From early July to mid-August, UD Honors Program Summer College students live together in a University residence hall, take real college courses for credit, and enjoy the independence and excitement that can only be found at a top national university.  Courses for Summer College, taught by University faculty, are designed to encourage students to expand their knowledge in new directions and to provide a supportive environment where learning is valued for its own sake.  Selective institutions, like the University of Delaware, are interested in high school students who demonstrate the ability to succeed in college-level work in an independent environment.  Discover UD and explore your future at the UD Honors Program Summer College!

Program: Julian Krinsky Summer Camps & Programs
Description: Explore and experience college campus-life at prestigious Philadelphia area colleges including the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University. Students can choose specialized courses in business, leadership, medicine, journalism, nursing, sports business, engineering, technology, community service, SAT Test Prep, science, Model UN, law and pre-college enrichment. High School internships for are available in dozens of fields giving students the opportunity to experience their future career first hand. Students live in on-campus at Penn or Villanova in the residence halls and have access to the dining halls, computer labs and athletic facilities. Program:  Summer in the City, Barnard College: New York
Description:  At Barnard College, enrich your academic experience and get a head start on college in the world’s greatest city. Barnard offers opportunities to discover New York City in and out of the classroom while taking fascinating classes with our world-renowned faculty, exploring careers and interests from architecture to outer space, making friends from around the world, and getting a head start on college applications through our admissions workshops.

Program: Northwestern University College Prep Program: Evanston, Illinois
Description: The College Prep Program allows high school students to experience college life at Northwestern University in the summer. Take undergraduate courses for college credit, or enroll in an intensive noncredit IN FOCUS seminar, both taught by Northwestern faculty and instructors. Choose from more than 300 courses in virtually every academic discipline. Course credit earned in the College Prep Program can be transferred to undergraduate programs at many other universities. Courses are flexibly scheduled, ranging from three-week intensive courses in science and languages, and four to eight weeks for most other offerings. IN FOCUS Seminars are designed to expose you to today’s important topics and the best of Northwestern’s faculty, but without the time commitment and cost of enrolling in a college credit course. These two-week noncredit seminars are structured like a college seminar course. Faculty will lead the seminar through discussion, readings and study.

Description: Provides an enriching educational experience through the introduction of UD’s nationally recognized Core Curriculum. Students will initiate their journey to freedom by exploring the essential texts of Western Civilization and reflect on works of fine art, film, and music.

Program:  University of Dallas - Shakespeare in Italy, July 9-26, 2012
Description: Come travel with us to Rome to share Shakespeare's passion for Italy and our passion for the Bard. Students will stay on our beautiful campus in Due Santi and travel to sites where Shakespeare set some of his most famous plays during the 18-day program. College Credit is available.

Program:  University of Dallas - Latin in Rome, 2013
DescriptionLatin in Rome seeks intermediate and advanced students of Latin who desire to refine and deepen their understanding of the language and the Romans who spoke it. Students combine daily visits to archaeological and historical sites in and around Rome and Naples with intensive small group tutorials on relevant passages in Latin. A minimum of three years of high school Latin is required.

Program:  Michigan Technological University Summer Youth Programs: Houghton, Michigan
Description: Week-long sessions starting July 8th-August 4th
Summer Youth Programs and Mind Trekker Summer Camps offer over 50 explorations each summer to discover and learn about various fields through hands-on laboratory, classroom and field experiences. An exploration is an intensive week-long look into a particular field or area of interest. We offer seven different categories of explorations including Leadership, Business, Computing, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Outdoor and Environmental Studies, and Science and Technology. In your exploration you may learn new software, rappel down a cliff, fly an airplane, cast molten metal, build a robot, produce a film, or backpack on an island...the opportunities are endless!  Explorations are lead by Michigan Tech faculty members, graduate students, and local specialists. Enrollment is open until classes are full. Classes are limited to 20 or less students. Fee for commuter students is $450 and for residential students is $795 per exploration.

Program:  Michigan Technological University Summer Scholarship Programs: Houghton, Michigan
Description: Women in Engineering (WIE), June 24-20 and Engineering Scholars Program (ESP), July 8-14 are  weeklong investigations of engineering careers in areas such as mechanical, computer, environmental, electrical, chemical, biomedical, civil, geological, materials, and related disciplines.  This program is a highly competitive scholarship program which provides a chance for traditionally underrepresented high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors to investigate careers in engineering and science. Students participate in engineering sessions, group projects and special topic presentations. In addition, students have opportunities throughout the week to interact with industry role models and a diverse group of peers from all over the country and world.  Applications are due by May 1st.  National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI), July 15-28 is a two week program that allows student to explore today’s transportation industry.  Highlights include touring the Mackinac Bridge Authority, visiting the Soo Locks, and a trip to Isle Royale.  This program is a highly competitive program which provides high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors the opportunity to investigate careers and educational paths supporting today’s transportation industry and future needs.  Applications are due May 1st.  Rail and Intermodal Transportation (July 8-14) is a weeklong investigation designed to create awareness and stimulate interest in the area of rail and intermodal transportation.  You will learn about and ride trains, enjoy technical tours to rail and intermodal facilities in Marquette and Duluth, and work in teams to complete group projects.

Program:  Summer@Rensselaer: New York
Description: Summer@Rensselaer offers various academic enrichment programs on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Day enrichment programs are available for elementary, middle and high school students. Residential enrichment programs are available for high school students. All the summer programs are designed and taught by Rensselaer faculty members. Programs include daily on-campus classroom preparation, lab experience, tours, visits with faculty and admissions counselors, hands-on projects and interactions with current undergraduate and graduate students. Summer residential enrichment programs allow high school students the chance to participate in non credit programs that Build Their Future. In addition Rensselaer invites pre-college age students to attend a RPI Sports Camp, Taught by RPI Coaches, to stimulate their minds and exercise their bodies. Rensselaer has 23 varsity teams, both men’s and women’s sports. The men’s and women’s hockey team competes at the Division I level. The remaining teams play in Division III. Rensselaer is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the ECACHL, NYSWCAA, and the Liberty League. Each summer program will be individually priced. Program:  Ohio University Summer Honors Academy:  Athens, Ohio
Description: 4-week program during which participants earn college credit in 2-3 selected University courses alongside University students.  Courses include a wide range of disciplines, and students have their choice.  Residential and commuter options; close supervision and support provided by mentors from the University’s Honors Tutorial College and residence life staff.  Students explore Ohio University resources and options for college majors and careers, participate in service learning projects, and enjoy structured extracurricular activities.
Participants: Completed 9th, 10th, or 11th grade; earned 3.25+ gpa on a 4.0 scale.

Program:  Ithaca College - Summer College for High School Students: Ithaca, NY
Description: In Ithaca College's residential pre-college summer program, high school students experience college life and college-level courses while living in a safe environment. The College has two program offerings (one-week or three-week), each with courses designed and reserved expressly for pre-college students.

The three-week summer college program is for talented students who have completed their sophomore or junior year in high school. Students who have just completed their senior year are also eligible. Enroll in one course and earn two to four credits: Acting I (3 credits), Cultural Anthropology (3 credits), Digital Music Production (ProTools Professional Certification, Girlstories (4 credit), General Psychology (3 credits), Health Sciences: Foundations and Careers (2 credits),  Introduction to Musical Theater Performance (3 credits), Introduction to Media Production (4 credits), Issues in Management: Entrepreneurship (3 credits), Issues in Management: Marketing and Social Media (3 credits), Issues in Management: Money and Baseball (3 credits), Sport Management (3 credits)

No grades are awarded, but in a morning and afternoon session professors and students immerse themselves in their subject: Digital Music Production, Digital Photography, Sustainability Leadership, The Healing Arts, Project Costume: One-Week Costume Design Intensive, Story!, Writing College Application Essays, Workshop in Sports Media and Management, Writing the Short Story
Classes are taught by Ithaca College faculty. Classes meet in the morning, 9:30-11:30 and in the afternoon, 1:00-2:30. (Some classes run until 3:45.) Late afternoons and evenings are available for co-curricular, social, and recreational events on and off campus.

Description: At the University of Rochester, students design their own educational plans, driven by their interests and passions. The University’s Pre-College Programs extend this same experience to junior high and high school students. Description: Emerson College offers 5-week pre-college summer programs in acting, musical theatre, stage design, fiction & magazine writing, film, television writing & production, and computer animation; also a 2-week Journalism Institute; and a 1-week Political Communication-Social Advocacy-Leadership Institute.

Program:  Boston University High School Summer Honors Program:  Boston, Massachusetts
Description:  This program has two different options for students.   The General Honors Programs enables students to take two six week undergraduate courses and earn Boston University credits.  Students can choose from a variety of course options.  Another option is the Research Internship in Science and Engineering in which students participate in research with the mentorship of a faculty research scientist.
